Keeping People Coming To Your LAN Party

You first few LAN parties usually bring in quite a few people as it is a new and exciting thing to do. However keeping their interest throughout the year so that they attend as many of the gaming sessions as possible can be a bit tougher to accomplish. I like to entice players to my LAN parties by offering some sort of door prizes, give-aways or little token of my appreciation. You can usually find various vendors both locally and nationally that will be willing to give you free goodies to pass out at your lan party. My last lan party I was able to get my hands on 4 clearance usb flash drives from one of the local pc shops in town. They weren't real expensive gifts but still gave a little extra to the guests at the LAN party. Other things that we commonly have as door prizes are usually promotional IT type items from other companies like Internet providers, universities and various businesses throughout the community. So the next time you hold a LAN Party try to have a good supply of goodies to hand out, use as door prizes or awards for the best gamer of the day.
